Now…. you might be asking what is a QRL? Answer, A QRL is a url encrypted into a QR-Code. Now a QR-Code is a 2D bar code that is fast becoming popular in America. It has been used in japan for years. How it works is: with a QR-Code enabled camera cell phone you can point click and boom you are taken to a web address about a product, company, personal website, message board, social network home page or whatever it is the QR-Code has pointed you to. With the QRL from www.qrlme.com you register a short qrl that stays the same from the time you buy it to the time you decide you no longer need it because lets say you use it to promote your newest product on the market. Well, in a month or two you may come out with a better product so you call QRL ME! and let them know that you want your qrl to point to the new product page instead of the current one. For a small fee your qrl that is already in the public eye automatically changes to the new url which you want. So the idea behind the qrl is a versatile address that can change when you need it too and can still be scanned from the same shirt, hat, business card, or ID badge you ordered from the start.

I love looking words up. I am constantly checking to see if i am correct in my words that I use. So, ok, years ago I use to have a dictionary on my computer that I could just type a word and it would give me the definition and synonyms along with other tabs full of information about the word i just typed. Well, a few computer crashes later I had totally forgot about the program. In a search for more freeware today I found it again!!!! WordWeb!!!! It is even better now. And for those of you who like portable software for your flash drive, it has that option if you click on advanced options during installation! Not only does WordWeb give you an amazing wealth of information within milliseconds but now they have incorporated it into the system tray of windows (Which I personally do not like running programs in the tray but, to each their own.) this allows you to right click a word from virtually any program you are running and look it up in the dictionary!!!

Ok, I could go on and on about how great this is but you have to at least try it for yourself. There are no ads, no spyware, and no viruses (always use your anti-virus to double check anyway.)

Also as another note: I have gotten rid of my old sidebar widget dictionary (the dictionary search feature located at the right hand side of this website on every page.) because it was full of advertising banners and the results were good but hard to read between all those ads… so I found that WordWeb has an online version of their software. You can type a word in my sidebar under the Dictionary (WordWeb) box and click “look it up!” and you will be taken to the official WordWeb online website with your search results. Enjoy!

In this first blog I would like to mention that Ocala Network has changed. I no longer will be pursuing to build Ocala Network as it was known but instead will make it a website with a wealth of information on topics such as computers, and other technical information that I will do my best to break it down into basic every day language for you.

I will also be providing links to other tools and interesting things within Ocala Network’s domain. For example, you can type in or click http://www.ocalanetwork.com/anochat and it will take you to a private chartroom area where you can chat anonymously with your friends and family as you would in an IM or chat room. But, instead of it being through a third party that is not encrypted or has many people handling the data through which you are communicating it is encrypted on server side here and not shared with any third parties.
